New US Tariffs: What You Need to Know

Sending Parcels to the USA – Important Update

From 29th August 2025, the $800 duty-free allowance for shipments to the USA has been removed.
This means that duties may now apply to every parcel, no matter its value.

To help you avoid delays and surprise charges, Parcel2Go now offers Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) services with trusted couriers such as UPS and EVRi.

What is “de minimis” and what has changed?

  • De minimis is the threshold below which goods can enter a country without duties or taxes.

  • Previously, parcels worth under $800 USD could be sent to the USA duty-free.

  • From 29th August 2025, this rule has changed. Only gifts worth $100 or less remain exempt.

  • All other shipments may now face import duties and taxes, regardless of value.

How Parcel2Go makes this easier

? We collect taxes and duties upfront

With DDP services, taxes and duties are calculated and paid before your parcel leaves the UK. This means no unexpected costs or customs hold-ups once your shipment reaches the USA.

? You choose who pays

At the booking stage, you can decide whether you or the recipient covers duties and taxes. If you pay upfront, your parcel is cleared faster and arrives without delays.

? Faster, smoother delivery

By handling duties in advance, your parcel goes straight through customs – helping ensure a seamless delivery experience.

Why book with Parcel2Go?

  • Stay ahead of US customs changes.

  • Avoid delays and hidden charges.

  • Save money with our trusted couriers, often at cheaper rates than booking direct.
